Kenneth “Fayne” Durrance, 83, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, in his home town in Fernandina Beach, FL; surrounded by his wife and family. Fayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a proud veteran who dedicated his life to his family and country.
Born in Nashville, GA, on June 27, 1942, Fayne was the son of the late Arthur and Effie Durrance. After graduating from Yulee High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1960. Following his time in the service he retired after 40 year at Rayonier papermill in Fernandina Beach, FL.
Fayne is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marsha Hanson; his children, Julie (Johnny), Kenneth (Kelly), and Steven (Megan); 12 cherished grand/great grandchildren. Chelsea, Josh (Taylor), Sara, Jared, Tyler, Devyn, Greyson, Reese, Kenan, Max, Hazel and expecting Sutton. Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter in law, Paige.
An Internment service with military honors will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery on September 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Fayne's honor to the Wounded Warrior Project or Community Hospice Jane and Bill Warner Center for Caring.
