Freddie Glyn Gean, age 69, born on July 16, 1956 ( along with his twin Teddie Lyn), passed away on Friday September 12, 2025. He was born in Florence, Alabama, then was adopted (along with his brother) at the age of 3 by George and Betty Gean. They moved to South Bend, IN and he lived there until college. He was an avid sports fan, and involved in many different sports including wrestling and track. He broke the record for running the two mile in his state. He was an avid Cubs and Notre Dame fan and loved to talk to anyone about them. He was an over the road truck driver for many years, and was very proud of his million miles driving record with no tickets or accidents. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Betty Gean, and his sister Carolyn Beck. He is survived by his partner of 23 years, Kim, who he met in high school. He was stepdad to her four daughters, Ashleigh (Mike), Lindsey, Jennah (Reed), and Jordan (Scott), and a wonderful grandpa to Aleigh (Andrew), Sawyer, Eli, Reid, Wesleigh, Brynleigh, Sunny and Ford, and a great-grandpa to Lucy. He is also survived by his twin Ted (Nancy), sister Marilyn (Denny), and nephew Tad (Amanda) and their children. He will be greatly missed. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
