Edren Paul Rhodes Jr., 79, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on January 4, 2026, in Jacksonville.

Life & Legacy

Edren was born on November 4, 1946, to the late Edren Paul Rhodes Sr. and Essie Mae Rhodes. A proud graduate of Stanton High School, Edren went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he began a long and dedicated career with the Smurf-Stone Paper Mill, where he worked for many years until his retirement.

Personality & Interests

Edren was a man of impeccable taste, well-known for his sharp sense of style and love for dressing well. He had a deep passion for the finer things in life, including traveling to new places and shopping. Above all, Edren loved good food; he was a talented cook who found great joy in preparing meals and sharing them with those he loved.

Family

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Lawton, and his parents, Edren Paul Rhodes Sr. and Essie Mae Rhodes.

His memory will be cherished by his only son, Edren Paul Rhodes III (mother, Almanda Daniels-Hicks); his devoted partner, Latricia Smith; best friend,Vienell Small; his brother, Freddie Rhodes, and sister-in-law, Sarah; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
