With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Frances Metz, born August 26, 1952, who entered eternal rest on February 12, 2026. She lived a life rich in laughter, faith, friendship, and love for her family.
Frances was the mother of three children and carried out that role in her own special way. She was preceded in death by her son, Jaime Strahan. She is survived by her two children, Stephaney Barger (Todd Barger) and Howard Strahan. Throughout her life, she shared with them strength, humor, and many moments that will be remembered and cherished.
She was known for her incredible sense of humor. Truly hilarious, she was quick with a comeback and always full of stories. She had a remarkable gift for making people laugh—even in life’s hardest moments. Her laughter was contagious, and her vibrant personality could light up any room.
Frances was also a loyal and cherished friend. If you were part of her circle, you knew you had someone who would stand beside you, and show up when it mattered most.
From 2021 to 2024, she faithfully served as Chaplain of the Amvets Ladies Auxiliary 86. In that role, she offered comfort, encouragement, and steadfast faith to many. Her heart for service and compassion for others reflected the depth of her character.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. Though she will be profoundly missed, her spirit lives on in the stories shared, the lessons remembered, and the love she gave so freely. Frances was truly one of a kind and will be missed beyond words.
