Walter Murray “Buck” Taylor: Tuesday, May 19, 2026, Buck Taylor, age 60, left this life to join those who passed before him. He was born in Macon, GA, and was the only son of Jesse Murray Taylor, Jr., (d. 2018) and Frances Williams Taylor. Left to cherish his memory is his wife and companion for twenty years, Lisa Cline Taylor, mother Frances Taylor, daughters Lindsey Taylor


Leavitt (Justin), Kelsie Taylor Foghino (James) and Lyndie Woodard, sons Christopher Taylor (Aubrey), Cody Cline (Abby) and Bret Wallace (Rachel). He was also blessed with twelve beautiful grandchildren he loved dearly. His sisters Elizabeth Newberry (Larry) and Frances Pearce (David) will cherish the memories of their baby brother.


Buck retired in 2015 as a U.S. Navy Command Master Chief after having proudly served his country for over thirty years as an Electronics Technician on the USS Canopus, USS Batfish, USS Baltimore, and USS Rhode Island, as well as leading Sailors under P-8A Patrol Squadron 26 and Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron HSL-48. Buck impacted countless lives as a mentor, leader, and friend. He was a stalwart veteran advocate and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and served as Commander of VFW Post 8385 from 2018-2019. Always willing to assist those in need, Buck was a beloved and trusted member of the community. He treasured his blended family and the life he and Lisa built together.


A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Georgia Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery Chapel in Milledgeville, GA. A service will also be held on June 12th at 2:00 p.m. at the Kings Bay Submarine Base chapel followed by a celebration of life at VFW Post 8385 in Kingsland, GA.
