In Loving Memory of Stephen Lawrence King Date of Birth January 28, 1958 Battle Creek, Michigan Entered into Rest May 20, 2020 Jacksonville, Florida Stephen Lawrence King of Jacksonville, FL passed away suddenly at his home on May 20, 2020. Stephen (Steve) King, son of the late Lawrence and Christine King, was born January 28, 1958 in Battle Creek, Mich. Steve graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1976. He worked for Clark Equipment Company and Federal Home Life Insurance Company in Information Technology Mainframe System Operations. Steve served as a Jehovah's Witness and his passion was helping the elderly and mentoring the youth in the congregation. Steve attained a 2nd Degree Black Belt and he enjoyed spending time on his IPads, tinkering with laptops and showing off his barbecuing skills for family and friends. Steve moved to Florida in 1987, where he worked for Harcourt Brace Jovanovich Company, several auto dealerships and previously for TPC Sawgrass Golf Resort. Steve is survived by his former wife, Ola M. Hughes and from this union, a son, Christopher S. (Candice) King, of Holt, Mich., and a daughter Stephanie M. King, of Las Vegas, NV., Former wife Evelyn Y. Williams, and from this union, a daughter Tiffany L. King of Huntsville AL, brothers David H. (Charlotte) King, of Battle Creek Mich., Michael E. ( Sharon) King, of Battle Creek Mich., grandchildren Braylon King, 14 Sophia King, 11 Neeko King, 4 Zane King, 3 Malik and Malaki Williams, 8 Christin Ponciano, 8 Nickolas Ponciano, 4 Adrianna Morales, 18 Brendan Morales 21. Also survived by his ex-wife, Virigine Fortes. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Brenda D. Sanders. Steve would often refer to himself as “Mr. Kind “and most people would agree. He was a beautiful person and he'll truly be missed by his congregation, family and friends...
