Obituary of Laverne Jones

Ila Laverne Jones went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 7, 2020 at the age of 89. She was born in St Augustine, Florida on August 6, 1931. After graduation she went to work for Southern Bell Telephone Co. and later transferred to Jacksonville where she retired after 32 years of service in 1982. Later, she went to work for Atlantic National Bank and retired with First Union National Bank after 10 years of service in 1995. Laverne became a member of Southside Assembly in 1964 where she was faithful to her church and more especially to the Lord. She is survived by her only Brother, Ernest Francis Jones and her Nephew, Everett Francis Jones. A viewing and service will be held at Eternity Funeral Home & Crematory of Jacksonville on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 10 ~ 11 a.m. The interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in St Augustine following the service at noon. Officiating the service and interment will be Pastor Milton Dykes.
