Earnest Edward Niles
Born August 10, 1929 and after a prolonged illness he was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, where he joined his parents Reuben and Pernella (Wingate) Niles, sister Betty Gruber, and brother William Niles. He is survived by his wife Patricia Niles, step-children: David W Bedsole (Charlotte Bedsole), J Michael Bedsole, and James D Bedsole (Kim Bedsole), Grandchildren: Jennifer Freeman (Mason), Jeremy Bedsole (Katie Finley), Jodi Segovia (Alex), Sydney Bedsole, and Rachael Bedsole, great-grandchildren: Lili Mae Bedsole and Ivy Grace Bedsole, and his beloved fur baby: Jill. Mr. Niles served two tours in the US Navy, proudly serving in the Korean War and receiving Good Conduct, Navy Occupation Service, and National Defense Service Medals. He retired from Charter Company and spent his time as a member of Murray Hill Church. He also served two tours as the Commander of American Legion Post 137 and a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7909. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 at 1pm, Murray Hill Church, officiated by Dr. Doug Axtell. In adherence with COVID-19 recommendations, masks are required for attendance at the church. A live stream option will also be offered. After cremation, his ashes will reside with his wife until interment at Jacksonville National Cemetery on March 1, 2021in a private ceremony.
