Norman, Delwin Washington 'Del' was called to the Lord on March 31st, 2021. Delwin was born on July 20th, 1952, in Chicago, IL to Amelia Sanchez. His family moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1969, where he graduated from William M. Raines High School.
Delwin joined the Army, where he took great pride serving his country. He retired as a Sergeant First Class, his military career was in Finance and he was stationed in Germany, Korea, Ft Myer, VA, and Fort Hood, TX.
After retirement he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Edward Waters College in Jacksonville Florida. He found his calling from the Lord, dedicating his time and service to him at St. Paul AME Church, Jacksonville, FL. Delwin enjoyed life, talking with people, music 'Jazz/Soul', dancing, entertainment and always dressed to impress. He will be truly missed.
Delwin was survived by his son, David Blade Swanson, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; his family who all reside in the Jacksonville, Florida area: His mother Amelia Norman; brothers Vincent (Cecelia) Norman and Joseph Norman. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family and friends; His former wife of 25 years and a friend for life, Wanda Swanson of Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Preceding Delwins death was his father Hubert R. Norman of Jacksonville, FL.
Delwin will be laid to rest at the Jacksonville Florida National cemetery with full military rites at a later date.
