Obituary of Robert B Rathbone III

Robert B Rathbone III died 05/22/2021 at his home. He was born 02/21/1934 in Waynesville Pa. Was the son of Robert B Rathbone II and Katherine Isabelle (Smith) Rathbone. Robert graduated with High School Diploma with the Navy. Serving in the Navy and was in the Korean War (1950-1953). After the Navy he enlisted in the Airforce. After the military he married Carolyn (Ballard) Rathbone and settled in Charlotte NC. Son Robert B Rathbone IV and Daughter Melanie F (Rathbone) Barry. Remarried in 1964 to Delores A (Frazier) Rathbone. Daughter Margery L Rathbone. They Celebrated 56 years on September 24th, 2020. Also survived by his sister Mary Judith (Rathbone) Barber, 7 children, brother Curtis Sheldon Rathbone, 2 children. His son Robert B Rathbone IV, wife, Dawn (Schmidt) Rathbone, their children, son Robert B Rathbone V, daughter Taylor D Rathbone. His daughter Melanie F (Rathbone) Barry, her daughter Treasa (Rathbone) Jackson. daughter Margery L (Johnson)Rathbone, her children Courtney E (Johnson) Thomas, and Lyndsey Brooke Johnson. 5 Grand Children, 5 Great grand Children. Famous phrase “Shyamala Goots” We think he was the only one that knew if it was a word or not. Greyhounds were always a passion of his, not only raising them but going to the track, He loved baseball, the Jaguars, fishing, overnight camping with shrimping, and family.
