Tam Giles Copenhaver, 66
June 17, 1955-August 28, 2021
Tam was born in Johnson City, TN to Charles and Evelyn Copenhaver. Tam grew up in Tallahassee, Florida and graduated from Godby High School in 1973. Tam played baseball, and was a three year varsity letterman. In 1974 he earned a college scholarship to central Florida community college. In 1975 he was the Central Florida community college all state catcher. He played in the East/West all star game in Detroit stadium in Lakeland Florida. Tam moved to Jacksonville, Florida where he met his wife Linda Ezell. They married in 1985, and had two wonderful daughters, Ashley and Chloe. Tam’s first job in Jacksonville was for Dunn and Bradstreet. In 1991 he started his own custom clothing business, Premier Clothiers, Inc. Tam loved what he did. He had many different clients. His niche was professional athletes from MLB players to NFL, to professional wrestlers. His passion was to watch his oldest daughter play softball for 18 years. He never missed a single game. He also enjoyed watching all the dance recitals and winter guard performances of his youngest daughter. Tam was so invested in his career, but never let that stop him from missing his daughters events. Tam is preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother Chuck Copenhaver. He is survived by his wife Linda, daughters Ashley(Corey), and Chloe. His sister EG Jones (Al), nieces Nikki Hall, and Danielle Richardson(Matt). Sister in law Mary Kaye Tabler. Nephews Christopher Copenhaver, Rob Copenhaver(Jessica) and niece Octavia Rowsey (Colton)
Tam passed away peacefully on August 28, 2021 with his family by his side.
Tam will always be remembered by his love for his family, his strong work ethic, and his infectious personality. We will have a celebration of his life at a later date.
