R.I.P. Linda Suzanne (Kline) English - July 10, 1961 - November 13, 2021 I have learned of the passing of my younger sister, Linda, in our hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. Linda was a child of Westside in the 1970s. As a young girl, Linda would often sit on Allen Collins’ knee while he picked riffs on his Gibson Flying V on the front porch of his mother Eva’s house, a few doors down from us on Barlad Drive. She graduated from Edward H. White High School in 1979, where she was a sports hall-of-fame player on the highly ranked Commanders softball team (and used to smoke behind the school with Johnny Van Zant). Linda was a talented athlete and a math whiz. She studied engineering in college, while working for Hunter Fan Company and Underwriters Laboratory. She lived in Knoxville, Memphis and Tampa before returning to Jacksonville. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Larry. Regardless of events and circumstances, Linda was still family, and she was loved. Her suffering is over, and she is finally at peace.
