Courage and Hope-
Nothing gives us more courage and hope to face life’s uncertainties than to remember
our moments of glory………and we have all had a FEW.
Betty Jo Bonventre
September 15 th, 1942 – January 25 th, 2022
Betty was born in the middle of September to the late Ocie Moore and Arthur Moore in
Nahunta, Ga. She moved to Jacksonville, Fl to finish out her life, which led her to 60
years of happiness. She was a contact lens technician for Vistakon (Johnson-Johnson)
for 35 years, where she helped develop the Acuvue Contact Lens. She has been many
things in her life, a mother, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a grandmother, a great
grandmother, a friend, a companion, and God-fearing. One thing remains truest of all,
she was a kind soul. To say she was strong would be an understatement. She was
Moore in every bit of the word, name, and all. She made every person she met better.
She will forever be cherished and remembered. Betty loved a good laugh and a strong
joke. She enjoyed writing, boating, decorating, traveling, and family time was the best
of all. She is survived by her loving husband Frank Bonventre. Her children, Joey Dewayne
Howard, Lori Howard Wise, Frank Bryan Bonventre, and Sharon Michelle Peacock. Her
Grandchildren Rachel Lindsey Wise, Joshua Garrett Wise, John Michael Chaise
Howard, Elizabeth Ashley Essig, Chelsea Marie Crumrine, and Priscilla JoAnn Peacock.
Great Grandchildren Emma Lou Howard and Georgia Renae Ocie Howard. Her nieces
and nephew who she always thought of as siblings, as follows Steve Chesser, Joy
Knight, and Brenda Horne. She has joined her brothers and sisters in heaven; Delmas
Moore, William Moore, Viola Moore, Louise Jones, and Aline Chesser as she was the baby of the
family. Everybody knows she dearly loved each one of her family members.
