His mother, Dorothy Wilcox-Powell preceded him in death. Dejuan attended William M. Raines High School and was employed by Quality Express Delivery as a Warehouse Associate. He was an avid sports fan but his favorite sport was basketball. He leaves to cherish his memories: his precious daughter, Johanna Destiny Powell; his dear father, Curtis Powell; his dear brothers, Deangelo Powell and Ivory Lawson. He also leaves to cherish his memories many dear aunts, cousins and close friends.
