Obituary of Lainie Kramer

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Lainie - Elaine Beverly “Lainie” Kramer, 77, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL - who passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 10, 2022. Lainie was born in Schenectady, NY to Harry and Marion (“Mimi”) Kramer on February 9, 1945. She attended Linton High School and graduated in 1963. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree from NYU and two Masters degrees. Lainie worked as a dedicated teacher for many years. Lainie is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, The Honorable Barry D. Kramer and Patricia Kramer, of Schenectady, NY, her daughter, Andrea “Buffy” Zimmerman Williams, of Miami, FL, her son Randy Zimmerman, of New Albany, OH, and her four grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Marion (“Mimi”) Kramer, and her son, Mark Siegel. Lainie is remembered by those who knew and loved her for her vivacious spirit, her generous warmth, and her magical smile. The family shares in this loss with Lainie’s friends in the Ponte Vedra Beach community and extends our heartfelt thanks and condolences to you all. No memorial service is immediately planned. Instead, we ask friends and loved ones to commemorate Lainie by doing something she loved - whether that is gazing at the ocean, helping a stray dog, offering a meal to a person in need, or planting beautiful flowers to bloom. You will be honoring Lainie’s spirit whenever you do.
