Terry Monday was Technical Director at DA for 25 years. He trained hundreds of students who are now working as professionals at international and National Theatre Venues. He taught thousands more the importance of a strong work ethic but, most importantly, he taught the importance of being part of a team working towards one goal. I think of Terry often. Mr Monday, was a great teacher, friend and like a second father to me. He taught me everything he knew about Technical Theatre. He taught me to drive a manual transmission. He was never one to shy away from any issue that we had. I can't begin to express my feelings for Mr Monday. Yes I know many call him Terry, out of respect he will always be Monday! His kind heartedness towards me was like nothing I have ever experienced.

Mr. Monday was an amazing teacher and a master of his craft. He inspired all of his students with his work ethic, attention to detail and perseverance. He gave 110% to everything he did and made sure that all of his students had an opportunity to learn, prosper and grow. Shop time and running theater shows are some of the fondest memories I have of high school. He always encouraged us to step up, take charge and get work done. He let me get away with welding a skateboarding rail out of some surplus materials after one of our shows. He did not give me grief, he kind of smiled and said "Make sure you take it home today". I kept it for many years and I still have some of the tools today that I got for stagecraft. He will be dearly missed.

Terry was an incredible teacher. He cared so deeply for all his students and he was so proud of all we accomplished. His impact on my life is immeasurable. It is because of him that I went into the entertainment and events industry. It's because of him that my work ethic is so strong. It is because of him that I know how to not sweat the small stuff "It's just another show in another barn, kid". I enjoyed chatting with him over email and phone in the last few years and I'm grateful I had the chance to tell him how much he meant to me. Of course, he shrugged it off. But he truly meant the world. Rest in Peace Mr. Monday.

I had a tech class with Mr Monday every year of my high school career he didn’t have favorites he just wanted hard workers. I lost my father my senior year in high school he was the only one of my teachers that came to the memorial service. That small gesture meant the world to me. He was a relatively quiet man who seemed to keep mostly to himself but he had a good heart and think he truly cares about what he was teaching us.
