Karen Darlene Ellinghausen, age 83, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed away May 19, 2022, at Community Hospice Care facility in Fernandina Beach after a valiant fight with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Karen (née Batterton) Ellinghausen was born in Pekin, Illinois, on January 3, 1939. She was married to her husband Robert for more than 64 years.
Karen and her husband lived in seven states and two European countries. Throughout her travels, she taught Bible Studies for several decades, demonstrating her love of Jesus Christ.
Karen Ellinghausen is survived by her husband Robert; sons Robert Ellinghausen Jr. of Pompano Beach, Florida, and Roger (Denise) Ellinghausen of Greer, SC; and daughters Phyllis Newton of Fresno, California, Dianna Soares of Middleburg, Florida. She also left behind eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, plus numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack Batterton and Ethel Kohler, and brother Eugene Batterton.
Final services were held privately with her immediate family. Cremation services will be provided by Eternity Funeral Home.
