Obituary of Sherry Jean Merola

Sherry J. Merola, 76 of Greenville, TX passed away peacefully in her sleep to her heavenly home on June 20. Sherry was born on June 2, 1946, to Barney and Ava Strickland in Mobile, AL and her family later moved to Yulee, FL where she graduated valedictorian from Yulee High School. After graduating, she moved to Ohio to raise her family and spent 20 years working at Omni Manor Nursing Home in Youngstown, OH where she was well known for the love, care, and compassion she showed all the residents that she had the opportunity to care for. Sherry moved to Kingwood, Texas in 2004 to have the opportunity to live with her grandchildren whom she loved and adored as they grew up. Sherry loved to read, play games, spend time with family and watch TV, especially The Walton's. Sherry is survived by her son, Jeff Merola; daughter-in-law, Susan Merola; grandson, Mark Merola; granddaughter, Katherine White; sisters Martha Faye Litchfield and Susan McHale. Sherry was proceeded in death by her brothers Billy Strickland, James Strickland and William Sheldon and her sister Marion Kluchar. Services will be held at Eternity Funeral Home on Monday, July 18 th at 10 am at 4856 Oakdale Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
