Obituary of Darcy Elton Stubbs

Sadly, Elton Stubbs (Big E) passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Hospice in Fernandina Beach, Florida after a long illness. Elton was born in Riceboro, Georgia November 21st, 1940. He graduated from Glynn Academy in 1960 and attended Brunswick Junior College. He is survived by his wife Peggy Wright Stubbs and daughter, Wendy Gayle Stubbs. Also brothers, John, Bobby, Richard, and Jimmy as well as sisters Carolyn Capps and Cindy Williams. He is predeceased by his mother Ollie Mae Johnson Stubbs and Darcy Elton Stubbs Sr. and also his son, Darcy Elton Stubbs III. Elton’s life was devoted to his family. He was a successful businessman in the restaurant business and real estate developer as well as a primary developer and operator of the Port of Fernandina. He excelled in basketball and baseball at Glynn Academy. He loved fishing and hunting with his friends. He will be sorely missed, but we know he will be peacefully welcomed into heaven with open arms.
