Obituary of JoAnn Irene Dixon

JoAnn Irene Dixon January 29, 1961 - September 11, 2022 JoAnn Irene (Ray) Dixon, age 61, passed away on September 11, 2022 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born on January 29, 1961 in Jacksonville, FL, the daughter of George Ray and Irene Harris. JoAnn loved spending time with her family. She is the youngest and only girl of 5 children, Bobby, Larry, David, and Jimmy. Being the only girl in the family shaped who JoAnn is, a strong, determined, and courageous woman. Being surrounded by mostly boys in her adolescence it was Gods will to give her only daughters, Tracy (Mike), Jessica, and JoAnna (Kayla). She enjoyed being a mother so much that later in life she adopted two more children Jason (21) and Jasmon (18). JoAnn is a nana to Megan(24), Michael(21), and Jayden(9). JoAnn’s love for all her family gave her the strength and motivation to fight cancer for a long four years. JoAnn started a career early in life at Publix Supermarkets. Throughout her long time with this company she held many titles and wore many aprons. Aside from work JoAnn was happiest spending her free time outside, wether she was at the beach or in her garden, she just wanted to be outside soaking up the sun. JoAnn loved to laugh and knew how to liven up any situation. When spending time with JoAnn you had to be careful around the pool, because it didn’t matter who you were or what you were wearing, JoAnn was going to push you in. JoAnn’s infections laugh and guidance will be greatly missed. JoAnn is preceded in passing by parents George Ray and Irene Harris and her brothers Jimmy Ray and Larry Ray. JoAnn is survived by her loving siblings Bobby and David. JoAnn is also survived by her children Tracy, Jessica, JoAnna, Jason, and Jasmon and her grandchildren Megan, Mitchael, and Jayden.
