Obituary of Eva Louise Crawford
Please share a memory of Eva to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Eva Louise (Plemmons) Crawford, known to many as Louise, age 87, loving mother of two, and wife to husband Joseph L. Crawford, passed away peacefully at Cypress Village nursing home on Tuesday September 20th. Louise was born in Morgan County, Lacon, Alabama on February 7, 1935 to Mamie L. (Collum) Plemmons and Roy L. Plemmons. She grew up surrounded by her large family that included seven siblings that moved around the south because her father worked for the railroad. Her sisters affectionately gave her the nickname “Lookie”. Louise was influenced by her family to be a loving and caring woman and was always giving her time to others. She and Joe met in Jacksonville, Florida and then married in 1952 in Folkston, Georgia. They had two sons Gary and Jeffrey. Jeffrey left us in 1991 and now he and his mother are reunited in heaven.
In her free time she loved to read and study her bible, listen to gospel music and spending time with her family as often as possible. Louise recently became a great-great grandmother and was absolutely thrilled about her family growing even bigger. She will be greatly missed by her family and especially her son Gary who loved and adored her with all of his heart.
Louise is survived by her son Gary Crawford (his wife Cleta), 1 granddaughter Daphne, 3 grandsons Robbie, Chris, Jon (his wife Carol), 4 great granddaughters Kelly, Ava, Briana and Arynn, 1 great grandson Justin, 1 great-great granddaughter, two sisters Evie and Lucille and many other family members.
There will be a family visitation for those who would like to say their last goodbye to Louise on October 4, 2022 at 11 a.m., Eternity Funeral Home, 4856 Oakdale Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32207 followed by a graveside service at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Andrew Wilkes officiating.
Louise was a member of Kernan Blvd Baptist Church.
“We know that we can no longer see and talk with you, but we’re happy knowing that you are with our Lord. Goodbye to a beautiful mother and grandmother, wonderful loving woman.”
