Meadows – Thomas “Tom” David Meadows of Starke, FL passed away January 17th. He was born in Annandale, VA on March 14, 1950 to Arthur and Littie Meadows. His father hand built the house he grew up in. He moved to Jacksonville with his wife Tracy. Tom owned a gas station at the corner of Roosevelt Blvd and Timuquana Rd before working as a mechanic for the City of Jacksonville for 35 years. The devoted father and grandfather became a jack-of-all trades after retiring and enjoyed renovating houses. Tom was a member of the Glen Baptist Church Carpenters for Christ and traveled the Southeast building churches.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, brother Arthur Jr, and brother Sonny. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Tracy Meadows of Starke, FL; children, John (Jennifer) Meadows of Macclenny, FL, Michelle Bushor of Jacksonville, Fl, Thomas (Brandy) Meadows of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Tara (Charles) Frey of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; grandchildren Matthew (Lauren) Bushor, Ashley (Kevin) Bock, Emily (David) Sebast, Katherine (Aaron) Sobczak, Elijah Meadows, Ayden Frey, and Lydia Frey; great grandchildren Leo Bock, August Sebast, Allison Bock, and Emory Bushor; brother Floyd Meadows, sisters Betty Edwards, Mary Anthony, and Margaret Brewster.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held Sunday, January 22nd at 3 PM at Glen Baptist Church, Glen St. Mary, FL with Pastor Tim Andrews officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday an hour prior to the service.
