Obituary of Rodney Alan Potter

Rodney Alan Potter, 72, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on November 12, 2023. He was born on October 24, 1951, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Rodney was a kind and loving man who cared deeply about his family and all those he met. He prayed daily for those close to him and even strangers he met in the nursing home where he spent his last days on this earth. He was also a devoted husband. He died at Vivo nursing home after a long illness. Rodney leaves behind his wife, Sandra Potter, his son David Potter, his daughter Kristy Freas, seven grandchildren, and his brother Eric Potter. He was predeceased by his father Clarence Potter and mother Margaret Potter. Rodney attended Logos Christian College in Jacksonville, FL, where he received an Associates Degree in Bible Studies in June 1999. He then pursued a career as a contractor, subcontractor, and carpenter until his retirement in 2012. In his free time, Rodney enjoyed metal detecting, carpentry, and he had a deep love for animals. He rescued many cats and cherished the time he spent with them. A memorial service for Rodney will be held on November 22, 2023, at Eternity Funeral Home in Jacksonville, FL.
