Joseph Robert Kilzer, 73, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on November 21, 2023. He was born on February 1, 1950, in Chicago, IL, to the late Joseph and Vivian (Kittlar) Kilzer. Joe worked in printing as a lithographer and introduced his sons to the printing trade. He enjoyed coaching his son’s Little League baseball team for multiple seasons. In Jacksonville, Joe worked at Family Dollar, Walmart, and Home Depot. Throughout his life he was a collector of many things, including Legos and model cars. Joe is survived by his children, Joseph Kilzer, Jr. (Amy) of Warren, OH; Sherry Mandel (Erik) of Richmond, IL; and Kevin Kilzer (Tiffany) of Grayslake, IL; grandchildren, Brittany, Breeanna, Cole, Aidan, Sarah, Naomi, and Avery Kilzer, and Dakota, Cheyanne, and Trace Mandel; great-granddaughter, Juniper Gabor; and his sister Margaret Adolfson of Huntley, IL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Lucille Kappa, and great-granddaughter Scarlet Strahm. The family would like to thank the hospice professionals at Cathedral Care in Jacksonville for the compassionate care and comfort they provided. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
