Obituary of Ronald Joseph Walsh Jr.

In Memoriam: Ronald Joseph Walsh, Jr. October 12, 1961 - December 11, 2023 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Joseph Walsh, Jr., a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend. Born on October 12, 1961, in Jackson Heights, NY, Ron grew up in Manchester, CT. He attended St. Bridget School and East Catholic High School in Manchester. He graduated from Jones College in Jacksonville, with a degree in Accounting. He was predeceased by his parents, Ronald Joseph Walsh, Sr. and Beverly Ann (Tierney) Walsh, his Aunt Barbara (Walsh) Stairs, his uncles, Ronald Stairs, Richard Tierney, and William Tierney, and his cousin, Stephen Stairs. Ron's legacy is one of unwavering dedication to faith, family, and community. A true servant of God and his fellow man, Ron touched the lives of many as a tireless volunteer at Holy Rosary Church and a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus North Jacksonville Council #5407, where he proudly served as Grand Knight. Ronald is survived by his brother, Richard J. Walsh, and his wife, Demi, of Manchester, CT, and his sister, Heidi M. Kay, and her husband, Brooks, of Manchester, CT. He leaves behind cherished memories for and with his nieces, Courtney and Paige Walsh, and his nephews, Stephen and Tommy Kay. He was very close to and enjoyed spending time with his extended family in the Jacksonville and Atlanta areas. A man of integrity, Ronald Joseph Walsh, Jr., will be remembered for his kindness, humility, and the positive impact he made on the lives of those around him. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire acts of kindness and service within our community. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Rosary Church in Jacksonville on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at noon. There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place at a later date in Connecticut. There will be a gathering after the Mass where friends and family can pay their respects and share their fondest memories. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Holy Rosary Church, 4731 Norwood Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32206, (put “KofC” in the memo line) in Ron's honor.
