Gina Jaqueline Cedeño
1963-2023
Gina Cedeño, 60, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023, due to complications of cancer.
Born on January 16, 1963, in Manabí, Ecuador, the second of six siblings from parents Ramona Esperanza Saltos and Jose Vicente Cedeño. The family moved to Brooklyn when she was only 12 years old, where she learned English and attended school.
She would go on to marry and have a son, Ignacio, who blessed her with six grandchildren. Over the years, the Cedeño family grew, with so many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all with fond memories of her.
Gina graduated from cosmetology school and spent many years as a hairdresser. She became successful in her profession and even achieved her goal of owning a hair styling salon. After four decades in the New York area, she moved to Jacksonville, Florida, in search of a better life and to be closer to family.
Gina was a kind soul —someone who would accept people without judgment. Everyone who went to see her was greeted with a smile and a genuine interest in their lives. She was full of laughter and radiated positivity. Gina was very into fashion and always looked her best. She appreciated music, especially songs that were reminiscent of her childhood. However, the most important thing to Gina was being good to people. She could make friends with anyone, and always offered a helping hand. Above all, Gina was selfless; she gave you what she had, and the world was a kinder place because of her presence.
She is survived by her son, grandchildren, mother, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends. May her joyful spirit live on in all of our hearts.
