Obituary of Jack L Conard

Please share a memory of Jack to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jack L. Conard, 68, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on May 1st. Son of Lucille & Dwight Conard. He was born on Fort Bragg Army Base in North Carolina. While his family was stationed in Germany, he completed school, and at 18 entered the Navy, serving proudly on the USS Saratoga as a machinist. After serving 5 years in the Navy, he settled in Jacksonville where he was a proud business owner of a machine shop. He spent many years serving the ports of the SE United States. Jack was an avid fisherman and had some of his happiest times out on the water. He loved the thrill of the catch, but especially loved sharing those experiences with his family and friends. He was a cancer survivor of almost 10 years. He retired from work after his diagnosis, but he was never satisfied with sitting still. He used that time to journey all over the country to visit his family and friends as often as he could. He was preceded in death by his father (Dwight), mother (Lucille), brother (Dan), and grandson (Paden). He is survived by his children, Kimberly Andrews (Drew), Stephanie Turowski (Chris), Analeigh Brooke Conard. His five grandchildren, Camden, Kaeson, Colton, Ronin “Auggie”, and Amelia; Sisters Diana and Lynette, and brother Lou, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Jack was a deeply beloved father, uncle, cousin, brother, and friend. While we lost our loving dad, many have lost a friend and loved one in him. He has been a rock to many, a master at sarcastic humor and witty timing to others. Jack was a friend, coworker and colleague, cousin, brother, stand-in paternal figure to many, craftsman and so much more than could ever be expressed. We will not be having a service as it was not his wishes. But instead are planning to have a small memorial this summer to return him to his favorite place, the sea. We will provide information once plans are made for those who would like to attend. If anyone would like to make a donation in Jacks honor. We are requesting that be done to : Angling for Relief This is an organization based out of Tampa which provides fishing excursions for children fighting cancer. Please follow links if you would like to make a donation. Any amount donated is kindly accepted.
