On July 30, 2024 at 2:10 p.m., Mr Larry Dexter Younger was called home. Larry Dexter Younger was born in Newark, New Jersey to Charles and Irene Younger on March 10, 1950. He was the youngest of their three kids. Larry was beloved by both his older sister, Halima Mateen, and his big brother Luxenhan Younger, the latter he buried July 19, 2015. Larry loved Newark, where he grew up. After graduating high school, he volunteered, as a Marine, to go Vietnam to fight for our country! After surviving Vietnam, he returned to the U.S. and enlisted in the Navy! Larry loved showing photos and telling stories about what he'd seen along the many places he'd been, sailing the seas aboard the USS Nimitz! After retiring in 2013, Larry moved back to Jacksonville, Florida. On July 30, 2024, at the age of 74, Larry Dexter Younger was called home to our Heavenly Father. Larry is survived by his son, Isa Abdullah Vines, daughter, Charmon Vines Nunnally, granddaughter, Aydah Marley Jackson, and sister, Halima Mateen.
