Obituary of David Joel Heuermann

David Joel Heuermann, 76 of Carrollton, VA went home to be with the lord on August 8, 2024. David was born in New York where he spent his career as a software engineer before retiring at the age of 51. David was a devout Christian and had the ability to quote just about any verse from the Bible. He was also a lifelong collector of Antique Padlocks. His massive collection along with the countless hours of historian research and meticulous journals has been a huge contribution to the padlock community and will live on as a source of knowledge for future collectors for years to come. David had a brilliant mind, a kind heart, a compassionate soul, a one of a kind laugh and a dry, but beloved sense of humor. His passing was much unexpected and has left us all in shock. David was predeceased by both of his parents, William & Edna, dear friend Denise and beloved Grandson, Nicholas. He is survived by so many people of which he considered all to be his family; his loving Niece, Michelle (Gil), Son, Jason (Martha Ellen), Daughters, Dorothy (Sean) & Diana, great Niece & buddy, Brittney (Ryan), loving Niece, Jessica, 5 Grandchildren, Will, Alyssa, Alexis, Ciara & Michaela, 5 Great Grandchildren, Alexander, Nova, Kayden, Kyrie & Kingston, incredible friends, Mary, Charlie & family, Peyton, Vernon, Betty Ann, Nelson, all of his padlock community and his Church family. David cherished his time with each of them and especially looked forward to the wonderful meals he shared with some, prepared with love by Betty Ann. There are few people in this world that have such a significant impact in our lives. David was one of those people. He may have been my Uncle by title, but he was so much more; a father, a confidant, a teacher of Christ & my best friend. The profound sadness of his passing is ours, those he left behind, for he is rejoicing in the arms of the Lord where he knew he would one day spend eternity.
