Please share a memory of Perry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Perry Connell Delugo, affectionately known by her family as "Griddy," and to her neighbors as “Mrs. Perry” passed away on August 20, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on May 14, 1953, in Aiken, SC, Perry spent her later years in Jacksonville, FL, where she created a simple life full of love. A proud Army and Navy veteran, Perry exemplified dedication and service, and was so proud of her Military service. She was a giving and loving soul who never met a stranger, always offering kindness and support to those around her. Perry was particularly fond of dogs, often preferring their company over that of people. Her passions included crafts, sewing, gardening, and walking, and spending time with her dog, all of which she pursued with creativity and enthusiasm. A lover of music, Perry enjoyed Jazz, Funk, and Rhythm and Blues, often filling her home with the sounds that brought her joy. Those close to her will fondly remember her love for chocolate, dogs, laughing and Cheerios, as well as her favorite saying, “Shake the Cool-o.” Perry's proudest accomplishments included her military service and her cherished role as a grandmother, particularly to her granddaughter Christine. She is survived by her daughter Prie, Granddaughter Christine, and son in law Julian, along with a host of neighbors and friends who were fortunate to know her. She is pre-deceased by her loving son Barnes and Brother Phil. Perry's legacy of generosity and laughter will continue to impact the lives of many. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
