Irma Ruth Noah (nee Statzer) was born in Ocoonita, Virginia on April 20, 1931, and departed this life on October 6, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida. Ruth was a devoted and loving mother, a very talented seamstress, a jewelry designer, an avid reader and a caring English teacher who touched many lives at Johnson Junior High School in Melbourne, Florida, Wagner-Salley High School in Wagner, South Carolina and Aiken High School in Aiken South Carolina. Ruth often served as a faculty advisor for proms, school yearbooks and school newspapers.
Ruth is survived by her children: Denis Noah (Brenda) of St Augustine, Florida; Jennifer Haney (Dan) of Florence, Arizona; and Philip Noah (Diane) of Aiken, South Carolina. Ruth was a proud grandmother of: Darryl Spivey (Zim); Ryan Noah (Alexis); Brandy Young (Darrin); Christopher Young (Caryn); Katharine Ziegler; and Peyton Noah. Ruth was blessed with two great-grandchildren: Leila Young; and Lincoln Noah. Ruth is also survived by her niece, Kim Perkins (Jeff) and her nephew, Jeff Statzer.
Ruth was predeceased by: her daughter, Joni Lynn Noah; her parents, William Ewing Statzer and Minnie Vivian Statzer (nee Osborne); and her brother, Robert Fredrick Statzer (Billie Sue).
Services for Ruth will be announced at a later date for friends and family. Donations in Ruth’s memory may be made to The Foundation of Community Hospice & Palliative Care, Building 100. 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
