Obituary of Christina Smillie
Please share a memory of Christina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christina Renee Smillie. Christina was born December 6th 1968 in Jacksonville, Florida. Christina (Chrissy) passed away at the age of 55 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a fighter to the end with never giving up on life. Chrissy loved her family and would make a point to tell them she loved them as often as possible. She was a lifelong native and resident of Jacksonville, Florida. She worked in the Seafood industry along with her husband for the past 20 years. She lived her life the best she knew. Chrissy was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. Her radiant smile and huge personality lit up any room she entered. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs and husband walking on the beach. She was a huge fan of Nascar racing, her favorite driver being Dale Earnhart. She also loved watching sports with her favorite teams being the Chicago Cubs, Florida Gators and San Francisco 49ers.
Although Chrissy is gone, she will live in our hearts forever. Her departure leaves an unfillable void in our lives, yet we find comfort in the good times we had with her and that she is no longer suffering.
She is survived by her beloved husband Sandy Smillie; her children Elizabeth Tillman (John), Joshua Warren, Heather Villanueva (Adam), Jennifer Greene, Andrew Smillie and Zachary Smillie; 15 grandchildren; mother Linda King; sisters Jennifer Vildibill and Wendy Roberts. Preceded in death by father Butch Vildibill.
There will not be a service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jacksonville Humane Society.
