Carol Ann Vorhis age 81 passed away in the early hours on Sunday December 14th2024 at Haven Hospice in Orange Park, FL.
She was born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1943 to Burman and Julia Newman. She attended Nathan B. Forrest High School before starting her career at BellSouth in which she retired from in 1992.
Carol was a devoted mother to her two children Russ and Cheryle, and an equally devoted Grandmother to her granddaughter Emma. They were her pride and joys as she often referred to them. She always said their birth changed her life for the better, which they all felt in the love and support that she showed.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Henderson, her mother, Julia S. Newman, father Burman F. Newman, and brother Burman (Wayne) Newman. She is survived by her son Russell A. Vorhis Jr, daughter and son in law, Cheryle and Bill Cade, her granddaughter Emma, her brother Charles Newman (Jan), and many nieces and nephews. Carol will be greatly missed by all, and remembered for her passion, humor, love, and creativity.
Services will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery
