One of the down sides of not participating in social media is that I only heard about Beth's passing in July a couple of days ago. I am absolutely crushed and heartbroken for her husband, her kids, her parents, her sister, and her two brothers. I knew the whole family back in Vienna, VA. Yet another life taken by COVID too soon.
I dated Beth for about 18 months back in high school and college. I didn't think I'd have anyone to take to my senior prom and going with Beth is one of my many fond memories of her. Thanks to her, I learned the value of opening myself up to another person in ways that are both rewarding and difficult. We remained good friends after breaking up and unfortunately fell out of touch nearly 30 years ago. I moved to Colorado and Beth enlisted in the Navy and then life just happens while you're not looking.
Beth had a deep and great heart. She also had a big smile and a contagious laugh. I am grateful to hear she became the passionate and caring mother she always wanted to be. She deserved to have a lot of love in her life and I'm glad that's what she had. Peace to her in the hereafter.
