Obituary of Gerard Erdman

Gerard “Jerry” Joseph Erdman was born June 16, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York and passed away August 19, 2021 in Jacksonville, Florida. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Cecelia Erdman and brother Robert. He is survived by; Wife Teresa Small Erdman, Children Jennifer, Chris and Jeff, Grandchildren Jacob, Ashlee, Mark, Ryan, Alex, Lance, and Zoey; brother Edwin Erdman; sisters, Lorraine Colavito, Teresa Nilla, and Mary Erdman; and many extended family. Jerry served in the Navy during the Vietnam war and retired from the Airforce as a Master Sergeant. After his military service he became an aircraft mechanic and retired from Northwest Airlines. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from St Leo University. Jerry lived life to the fullest. He never could sit still and was always looking for a new adventure. He enjoyed traveling, going to the gym, rock-crawling, listening to music and helping his family. He didn’t mind being silly to make people laugh but was also very stoic in times of need. He spent many hours with his children and grandchildren passing on words of wisdom and advice. A funeral service will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery on Wednesday, September 1st at 1:00pm.
