Obituary of Richard Delmar Seagren

Richard Delmar Seagren,Jr., 58 of Jacksonville, FL passed away unexpectedly
in Jacksonville, FL on December 25, 2022. Rick was born July 15, 1964
in Knoxville, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents Richard Delmar
Seagren, Sr. and Georgia Walker Seagren. There will be a celebration of life
for him in March 2023 in Jacksonville, FL.
Rick graduated in 1982 from Bearden High School in Knoxville, TN
where he was active in the band and truly enjoyed playing the trumpet.
While attending the University of Tennessee he was a member of the Pride
of the Southland Marching Band, a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity,
and a member of the University of the Tennessee Ice Hockey Club Team.
He graduated from East Tennessee State University with a BBA degree in
accounting.
Rick served honorably in the United States Naval Reserve as an electrician.
With an extensive knowledge of construction, accounting and handyman skills,
Rick was employed in the home building industry in Knoxville and recently
for Home Depot in Jacksonville, FL.
Rick enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He always had a love for his
pet dogs. We are forever grateful for him being the sole caregiver for our mother
in her later years. We remember him as an intelligent, caring and supportive son,
brother, uncle, and friend. Rick, with a good natured sense of humor always put
a smile on our faces.
Rick is survived by his three sisters Anne Seagren, Margy Bennett and husband
Greg, Sherry Dennison and husband Ken, niece Sharon Walters and husband
Justin, nephews Dan Bennett and wife Lindsay, Scott Bennett and wife Stacey,
Chris Bennett, Michael Bennett and wife Sabrina, Kenny Dennison and wife
Hayley, Jack Dennison, Lucas Dennison and fiancé Juliet, grandnieces Layla
Bennett, Lylah Dennison, grandnephew Sawyer Bennett and many cousins.
To honor his caring for others, memorial donations can be made to Shangri-la
Therapeutic Academy of riding in Knoxville, TN or to honor his love of dogs,
memorial donations can be made to the Jacksonville Humane Society.
