Joseph Adam Steinmeyer, Sr.
July 5, 1963 - January 22, 2023
Joseph Adam Steinmeyer, Sr., 59, of Jacksonville, FL unexpectedly passed away of natural causes on Sunday, January 22, 2023.
His Rite of Christian Burial and Rite of Committal will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL
Joseph was born on July 5, 1963, in Jacksonville Florida to Dorothy Louise Knoll and Henry McCall Steinmeyer, Jr. (deceased). He attended schools in Summerville, SC, Charlotte, NC, and graduated from TL Hanna High School in Anderson, SC.
Joe served on active duty as a paratrooper and Telecommunication specialist in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC and in the 1st Signal Battalion, Kaiserslautern, Germany, receiving an honorable discharge upon separation in the late 1980s. He enjoyed rooting for the Dallas Cowboys and the University of Florida Gators Football teams, attending concerts and sporting events, riding his motorcycle, playing golf with Uncle Dave, watching movies, and supporting his fellow veterans.
Joseph went on to have a long, successful career in sales receiving several prestigious awards for his talent and efforts. Joe had a larger-than-life personality and he never hesitated to help others. His love of country, family, and his faith in God were at the center of his life.
Mr. Steinmeyer is survived by his son, Joseph Adam Steinmeyer, Jr. (Cheyenne) and grandson Kayson of Orlando, FL; Mother Dorothy Knoll Henderson of Culpeper, VA; brother David Scott Steinmeyer of Warrenton, VA; fiancée Traci Taylor Baldwin (daughter Ramey) of Pendleton, SC; a half-brother, half-sister, stepsister, and three stepbrothers. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.
