Obituary of Evelyn Joy Laney

Evelyn Joy Laney, long time resident of Jacksonville, Florida died Wednesday, February 20, 2019. Joy was born in Lee, Florida on July 14, 1939 to her Parents, Rollin S. Alford and Ola Newsome Alford. She was an only child. Joy was loved by many. She was as feisty as she was beautiful. It was her way or the highway in most cases: which endeared all of us to her. She loved her family so much and adored her grandchildren.
Joy is survived by her loving children, James Richard Laney III and Gretchen Laney Taylor, (William Clifton Taylor Jr.), loving Grandchildren, Will Taylor (Anna Rose Taylor), Clayton Taylor, Hunter Laney & Hayden Laney. Joy graduated from Florida High School in Tallahassee, Florida. She worked at Winn Dixie for over 15 years and retired from Vistakon. Joy loved to play Bingo, going to eat at Bonos, playing cards and adored her grandchildren.
