Celebration of life of Loretta Helene Dycus
Loretta is survived by her brother Anthony Dycus and Patricia Dycus, nephew James Dycus and Daniella Dycus and her mother Corine Archuleta, brother and sister Michael and Angela and many Uncles, Aunts and cousins and other family members.
Loretta was taken from us much too soon at the age of 52. She now enjoys eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven. Loretta grew up in New Mexico, Colorado and graduated in Mascoutah Illinois. At a young age Loretta and her brother were adopted into the Dycus family. Loretta was an outgoing student and loved track and field and lettered at Mascoutah High school for the cross country team. After graduating, Loretta moved to the Washington DC area where she took a job with a political lobbying firm. Her work in Washington DC was one of her happiest and most rewarding times of her life. She enjoyed the many friendships she acquired there and especially enjoyed the weekend trips to the Delaware shore that she described with her coworkers as, "relaxing and unwinding at the beach." Maybe this is where she became so fond of the beach and ocean. After she left Washington DC she moved to Florida. She loved Florida so much she decided to make it her life long home in her adult years. She moved into the bookkeeping and financial field where she worked in the
Jacksonville Florida area for a couple different companies. The last company she worked for was Suddath Moving Company as a staff team member in the bookkeeping department.
Loretta had many goals. One goal was that she wanted to obtain her college degree and she was on her way to working on that. Another was that she wanted to own her own home. She was in the middle of building a new home and was weeks away from closing on it. She loved her job and her life and was very content with where she was in life. Although she was a very private person, She was a loving and emotional person and secretly cherished what life had to offer. She worked hard her whole life for what she acquired and deserved ever bit of where she was in life. I know she treasured her family especially her new nephews, Theodore and Henry. As her brother I worried about her everyday as I did watching over her all her life. Now it's Loretta's turn to watch over us. I can only say I'll miss her greatly. I can only hope that she left each and everyone of you with at least one wonderful memory as she did so many for me. She had a great sense of humor and had a great love of life. She will greatly be missed by many. A celebration of life ceremony will be planned and announced by me at a future date.
