We only knew Jerry for a short while. But ever since our chance meeting with him and Rita on a fishing pier only a few miles from here, it feels like we have been very close friends for a long time. I loved his zest for life, his inquisitive nature and his animated descriptions of his everyday life experiences. We so enjoyed dinner with him and Rita in their new home. We talked about the seemingly endless opportunities for exploration and adventure here in Florida. We were overjoyed when Jerry and Rita decided to start attending Parkview Church and become members. We were thrilled that they attended the same small group that we did. And we were so glad to witness Jerry and Rita’s wedding ceremony at the home of Gary and Deena Edwards.
It is said that we go nowhere by accident. Wherever we go, God is sending us there. He has a purpose in our being there. That was never more true than when we met Jerry and Rita. We were convinced that this was no chance meeting. It was the beginning of a new life for all of us. But sometimes God‘s plans are not our plans and His plans are beyond our understanding. We can only accept them and have faith that what He has in store for us is so much better than we know now.
Jerry, Rest In Peace my friend, until we reconvene for the ultimate, eternal life adventure with our God leading the way”.

It is very unfortunate that Jerry was taken a thousand miles away from all the people he loved, especially his twin brother. I PRAY that Jerry was happy and always felt safe and loved and the people in his life had no nefarious intentions with him.
