Mr. George Albert Rigsbee (AKA"Red") was called home to be with the Lord on October 4, 2021.
George was born and raised in Melville, New York on Long Island. He graduated from Walt Whitman High School. After completing business school he worked for over 32 years in retail sales management.
He had a kind,loving spirit and an awesome sense of humor. He loved the Lord and his family. In recent years when his health began to decline, George moved to Jacksonville, Florida to be closer to the other half of his family. George was preceded in death by his mother , Irene
Elouise Bailey; father, Ronald W.P. Rigsbee Sr.; grandparents, Rev. William F. Bailey and Ida Belle Bailey; aunt and uncle Julia and George Johnson who helped raise him.
George leaves to mourn his passing brothers, Robert W. Rigsbee and Ronald W.P. Rigsbee Jr: daughter Jaquelyn M.L. Jones and her children: Ceceilla Belcher, Nikita Johnson, Salisia Murray, Princess Jackson, Bobbie Jackson, Joshua Jackson, Toni Mclendon and Tea Mclendon; nephew, Wilton Douglass Reeves (Raquel) ;niece and daughter of his heart Irene Rigsbee (Ernest) and her children: Ti-Myus Gee and Mikayla Harden: sisters of the heart and in Christ, Missionary Bernice Lampkins and Missionary Louise Wilbur along with her children: Isaac Wilbur, Jason Wilbur and Shanika Wilbur; many,many long time friends including ex wife Barbara Rigsbee,Rev.Dewitt Davis and Alicia Affuso; a host of other family including aunts,uncles, cousins, great grandchildren, brothers and sisters in Christ and several other friends and acquaintances in the various states he traveled (he so loved to travel) to across our country.
In light of respecting his wishes, George was cremated without services but did agree to the acknowledgement of his passing thru his obituary. A great man was lost on October 4,2021 but the family requests that all who knew and loved him, keep his memory alive in your hearts and minds. Find comfort in the knowledge that he now sits perfectly whole, pain free and at peace with the Father and the Son.
