Robert Jerome Sawyer, Jr. (Jerry) passed away April 22 at age 76 at his home in Jacksonville, FL. Born in Raleigh, N.C., he attended N.C. State University and worked as a computer operator for many years. He moved to Jacksonville in 2004 and was a devoted caregiver to his mother, Frances Beck, until her passing in 2019. He moved to Taylor Residences and pursued hobbies including baking cakes for his friends and church family.
He is survived by sisters Ginny Horner (Nathan) and Elizabeth Hilla (Steve) and their families as well as by many cousins. The funeral will take place April 28 at 10 am at All Saints Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Saints (allsaintsjax.org).
