It is rare to come across someone that can joyfully push a room to their physical limits with inspiring vitality. I was always amazed by him when he approached the front of the room. Even more so, honored to be taught by him one on one. My condolences to his family in and out of the dojo.

Shihon Miro has been my Sensei for 12 years. Since I was 10, he taught me how to be a better martial artist. More importantly, he taught me how to be a better man. Because of his teachings, I can say that I am who I am today because of him, and his legacy will live on in the ones he cared for and taught in and out of the dojo. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Rest in Peace Shihon!

I met Sensei Francisco Miro at the Fayetteville, NC YMCA back in 2009. I will always remember Francisco as a ray of never-ending energy. One of the hardest working individuals I have ever met. He was more than a friend, mentor, or teacher. He was a role model on how to live.
I remember telling Francisco about waking up early for the military and how I would feel tired some days. Sensei Francisco replied to me stating that he woke up every morning with the mentality of “I can do it!”. It is a life lesson of resiliency I will never forget and instill in my children.
I know you are looking below from Heaven shining your never-ending ray of energy to the whole world.
Rest in Peace Sensei.

Sensi Miro instilled a love of karate in my little girl when she was only 4 years old. 6 years later, she still loves it and is still working towards her black belt. I am so sad to hear of his passing. Praying for his family.

He was teaching at the YMCA in Fayetteville.
It was a pleasure watching him teach the kids.
He moved as gracefully and as fast as a cat.
He also became one of our Lifeguards.
You will be missed my friend.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
