Obituary of Susan Lee Law

Susan Lee Law (Blackburn), age 68, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on July, 14th, 2024. Susie, as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, was born on July 15th, 1955, to Walter and Laura Belle Blackburn in the small town of Conyers, Georgia. The family left Georgia for greater opportunities and settled in Pennsylvania, where Susie grew up. She attended Greensburg Salem High School and was in the graduating class of 1973. After high school, Susie answered her innate call to serve others and joined the United States Navy. During her service to our great nation, she worked as a drug and alcohol counselor as well as a Yeoman. She achieved the rank of Yeoman petty officer 3rd class prior to her departure. After the Navy, Susie continued to serve others, working in the insurance industry for almost forty years. She was passionate about insurance and loved what she did for a living. She retired from Citizens Property Insurance in 2022. Susie was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Laura Belle Blackburn; sisters Stephanie J. Sloan-Butler and Jennifer Marie Pounds; and her nephew, Sean Mundy. She is survived by her siblings, sister Michelle Browning, brothers Lance Blackburn (Laurie) and Matthew Blackburn; her three loving children, Jonathon Stewart (Elizabeth), Jessica Lordahl Leporati (Michael), and Robert E. Mouro, Jr; beloved grandsons, Bert L. Lordahl V and Joshua J. Stewart; as well as several nieces and nephews. A brief military honors ceremony will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery located at 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida on August 2nd, 2024 at 10:30AM (lane one).
