Tulsa Dawn Stewart, beloved daughter, sister, wife, aunt, and friend left us unexpectedly at the age of 50 on September 21, 2024. Born on September 2, 1974 in Jacksonville, FL, she remained a lifelong resident of this vibrant city.
Tulsa was the cherished wife of Robert Bunger, with whom she shared a deep bond and many joyful adventures. Her nurturing spirit touched the lives of many, and she was a source of love and support for her family and friends. While she enjoyed being at home with her husband, Tulsa also found joy in exploring new places, especially on cruises. Her love for adventure was complemented by her appreciation for literature; she was an avid reader who drew inspiration from poets like Maya Angelou. Christmas was her favorite holiday, a time she cherished for its warmth and connection with loved ones. She also had a special affinity for theme parks, where she embraced the thrill of the rides and the joy of being surrounded by laughter.
She is survived by her loving husband Robert, devoted mother, Priscilla Faye, her brother Joshua (Emma), and her half sister Mindy. Her nephew Austin and niece Stella will miss her deeply. She also leaves behind numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles, all of whom cherished her presence and will carry her memory in their hearts. Tulsa is preceded in death by her father, John Henry Stewart and Half Brother Julius “John John” Stewart.
Tulsa’s loyalty, laughter, and love of arguing politics will be missed by her family and all who knew her. In her memory, let us celebrate the beauty of life, the joy of travel, and the power of poetry. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the CMT Research Foundation at cmtrf.org.
